Onboard Aircraft Electric Drive System - WheelTug

Aversan was selected for the turnkey development of the Cockpit Controller for the WheelTug System, which enables aircrafts to taxi without the use of their engines.

Such a system not only reduces costs associated with fuel, engine and brake wear, but also provides passengers with a better experience by reducing time spent on the ground.

The WheelTug system enables pilot-controlled forward and reverse movement in gate and terminal areas without tractors or jet engines. The WheelTug system includes small electric motors in the nose wheels that enable an aircraft to drive forward and backward (enables pilots to pushback and maneuver around the gate without tug or engine delays).
