Independent Verification and Validation of a Medical Insurance Claims Processing System of Aversan

Independent Verification and Validation of a Medical Insurance Claims Processing System

Aversan was responsible for independent verification and validation of Manitoba Blue Cross’s (MBC) Claims Processing System (CPS) modernization program, replacing their legacy system with a new SAP-based system.

One aspect of this testing initiative, the Cross Application and Integration Testing (CAIT), was to verify the system integration of external applications with the CPS. In this program, Aversan implemented an Automated Test Framework (ATF) with multiple test harnesses to handle component, system and service level (performance) testing of the application.

Each harness tested different aspects of the application including data presentation, business logic, API interfaces, process flow, and data flow.

Aversan was also responsible for performance testing at high volume transaction throughputs to validate SLA requirements. The ATF implemented by Aversan provides the capability of on-going regression of an automated test suite of over 6500 cases and runs nightly regression tests to quickly identify defects and improve accuracy.
